Beyond Guinness: Toast to St. Patrick with Other Irish Pours

St. Patrick's Day is a celebration of all things Irish, but it's also one of the foremost (if unofficial) beer holidays. Next to Super Bowl Sunday, St. Patrick's Day is one of the most popular days of the year to crack open a cold one or two. If you're hoping to go beyond green beer and Guinness this year, try one of these authentic Irish pours:

Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale
Dating back to the 1700s, this classic Irish ale is a favorite of Emerald Isle locals. With a nitrogenated cream head similar to Guinness, the pour is distinctly creamy and smooth. It's also, funnily enough, a favorite of Canadians, so you can cheers to both countries with a single beer!

Porterhouse Brewing Co. Oyster Stout
For a slightly more contemporary brew, try this dark, aromatic stout straight out of Dublin. Though the brewery only dates back to the 90s, Porterhouse has earned a stellar reputation for flavor through its relatively short lifetime. This blend of grains, hops and fresh oyster notes will satisfy stout fans everywhere.

O'Hara's Leann Folláin
If you're hoping to do as the Irish do on St. Patty's Day, pick up a six-pack of this beloved stout. It has made the top of countless "must try" lists since it launched 11 years ago, and one sip will make it obvious why. With notes of dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla, this delicious pour will keep you coming back for another round time and time again.
